In this fourth episode, we celebrate a special moment: for the first time, we bring together father and daughter in the same feature. Jaime, from the Logistics department, and Regina Rodrigues, from the Creation and Development team, share their connection to the company and show how different generations can cross paths, continuing to write Riopele’s story.
Jaime, what values did you seek to pass on to Regina about Riopele before she also started working here?
Punctuality has always been, for me, an essential value — and that is what I tried to pass on to Regina. I believe it is a fundamental starting point for becoming a good professional. In addition, I have always defended the importance of working with enthusiasm. It’s something I remind myself of every day: only with motivation is it possible to evolve and succeed.
Jaime, 46 years is a lifetime. How does it feel to see Riopele celebrating its centenary, knowing that you have been here for almost half of that journey?
First of all, I want to congratulate the company on its (almost) 100 years of history, and Dr. José Alexandre Oliveira, who has played a decisive role in the way Riopele has transformed into an innovative company with its eyes set on the future.
Working here fills me with pride. There are no words that truly describe what I feel for having been part of this journey.
Regina, you are also building your path at Riopele, where you have been working for about 15 years. At a time when the concept of “a job for life” is no longer the norm, what makes you stay? Did you ever imagine making your entire career here, like your father?
What keeps me going is, above all, the passion for what I do and the good fortune of being surrounded by great people. When you have a cohesive team and colleagues you enjoy working with, everything becomes easier — after all, we spend a large part of our lives at work.
As for the future, I’m not someone who makes rigid plans. I never say “never,” but at this moment, I don’t see myself leaving Riopele. It would take a very strong reason not to continue following a path similar to my father’s.
Jaime, how does it feel to see your daughter building her career in the same company where you spent your entire professional life?
It’s an immense pride. I remember many times arriving at 6 p.m. and still seeing Regina’s car in the parking lot. I would think to myself: “She’s still working. That’s a good sign — it means she’s needed.”
Regina, what would you say to the new generations now joining Riopele?
I would say: be patient and stay humble. It’s important to want to learn from those who have been here longer and to respect those with more accumulated experience. Your time will come, but first, it’s essential to listen, observe, and learn.
And Jaime, what advice would you give?
Love what you do. When there is passion and dedication, the path unfolds naturally.
Jaime and Regina, if you had to describe Riopele in just a few words, which would you choose?
Jaime: A company that is always in fashion.
Regina: A resilient company … and one that is always in fashion!
