The choice of this area reflects a concrete need within the sector. “There is a significant shortage of textile pattern designers in the textile industry, and this is currently one of our greatest needs,” highlights Francisca Oliveira, Business Development Manager at Riopele and Board Member of the Riopele Academy.
With this initiative, the company aims to encourage internal talent to invest in this field and consider professional retraining, addressing structural industry needs while simultaneously creating career progression opportunities for employees.
Riopele Academy was created with the goal of structuring and enhancing the knowledge accumulated by the company over the course of a century, combining it with external contributions. In addition to its technical component, the project will also focus on developing employees’ skills in areas such as leadership, business, sustainability and innovation.
In its initial phase, the Riopele Academy will be exclusively aimed at employees, reinforcing the company’s commitment to internal training and development through this project. At a later stage, the ambition is to open the academy to external audiences. “Our goal, in the year of our centenary, is to take this project further by sharing knowledge with clients, partners and universities, while reinforcing our role in promoting the industry’s know-how,” she adds.
