Riopele’s AW26 Collection attracts major interest in Milan

back to news

Riopele’s presence at the latest edition of Milano Unica once again reinforced its status as a key player in the international textile industry. At the event, the commercial and creative teams presented the collection “The First Thread AW26” — a true return to the roots of the company founded in 1927, and a tribute to its heritage and identity.

Riopele’s stand attracted hundreds of brands from around the world and generated over 5,000 sample requests, reflecting the high level of enthusiasm and interest the new collection sparked among industry professionals.

Among the most sought-after fabrics were innovative and versatile proposals such as Jerseywool, a lightweight, soft-touch flannel ideal for garments that blend comfort and sophistication. Cisco, a 100% cotton twill known for its strength and softness, also stood out thanks to a colour palette ranging from neutrals to vibrant tones — perfect for trench coats, transitional pieces, and trousers.

Codex proved to be a winning bet: a high-stretch technical fabric, wrinkle-resistant, with a “cool wool” look and excellent performance. Meanwhile, Lago responded to the growing demand for more structured materials — a heavy, non-stretch, double-faced twill ideal for jackets, blazers, and workwear with personality and durability.

According to Renato Pinheiro, Riopele’s Collection Manager, the feedback was overwhelmingly positive: “Riopele’s new collection was recognised for its strong and coherent identity, marked by a clear evolution of its DNA, with a special focus on the introduction of blends with natural fibres — enhancing both the sophistication of the designs and the brand’s commitment to sustainability.”

A classic inspiration, reinterpreted with a contemporary eye, runs throughout the collection. Tweeds, Harrys Tweeds, moulinés, chanticlairs and traditional tailoring fabrics — with standout patterns such as herringbones and Prince of Wales — showcased Riopele’s ability to merge tradition with innovation. Distinctive finishes — including brushed visuals, fade effects, and broken textures — added a unique touch to the collection, leaving a strong impression on visitors.

For Marta Pacheco, Riopele’s Commercial Director: “The interest shown in Milan confirms that Riopele is increasingly positioned as a strategic partner for fashion brands. We presented a collection with versatile, on-trend proposals and high added value — capable of meeting the demands of a global market that seeks differentiation, quality, and responsibility.”
