Riopele is accelerating the electrification of its fleet and has been awarded the “Locarent Green Fleet Seal 2026”, granted to companies that demonstrate an effective commitment to sustainable mobility.

This seal recognizes organizations whose fleets are composed of at least 70% fully electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, as well as companies with 25 or more electrified passenger vehicles acquired through Locarent.

This distinction reinforces Riopele’s position as a leading player in the global textile industry, particularly regarding the sustainability of its operations and the adoption of more responsible practices.

According to José Teixeira, CEO of Riopele, this recognition reflects a structural transformation the company has been implementing in recent years: “In a business environment increasingly focused on sustainability, commitment and efficiency, fleet management plays a strategic role in reducing the carbon footprint. This distinction confirms the path we have been following, with a committed approach that is prepared for the electric transition, always anticipating legal obligations,” he states.

As part of its sustainability strategy, the company has been promoting the electrification of its internal fleet, with the goal of progressively replacing combustion-engine vehicles. By the end of 2027, 75% of the fleet is expected to be electric, with the objective of reaching 100% by 2030.
