From past to present, Riopele’s new collection draws a path through four central themes: Raízes, Saber, Essência, and Saudade — celebrating nearly 100 years of intangible heritage and the art of creating with emotion and purpose.
Raízes
Raízes means “roots” — the foundation, origin, and grounding from which something grows.
The first theme of the collection dives into the elegant structure of Riopele’s earliest steps — where it all began: with rigor, class, and purpose.
This is where the story takes shape — in fabrics with memory and materials that carry the company's DNA.
The pieces adopt a more formal language, evoking silhouettes of the past and rescuing the heritage of a distinctive way of dressing. A tribute to Riopele’s origins, with a contemporary eye and deep respect for tradition.
Saber
Knowledge passed from generation to generation. Saber is skill, it is precision — the mastery of creating with intention, rigor, and excellence.
At this stage of the collection, legacy takes form in structured cuts and meticulous details, where the value of craftsmanship is both visible and tangible. Woolen articles take center stage in the narrative: rich blends, textured tweeds, checks, and herringbones that evoke tradition and sophistication.
The pieces bridge the feminine and masculine universes, with silhouettes that meet and reinvent themselves, creating a shared language of timeless elegance. A celebration of mastery, authenticity, and memory transformed into matter.
Essência
Essência means “essence” — the core, the very nature of something; its intrinsic spirit.
Blends that turn material into magic. Here, the art of textile creation is reinvented — a return to the origin, where the true essência of fabric is revealed.
The fabrics gain lightness and sophistication with moulinés and melanges, introducing chromatic subtlety and visual depth. The Oxford style adopts a youthful spirit, translated into refined blends of classic blues with noble browns, forming a serene, elegant, and timeless palette.
Pops of strong colors, paired with strategically placed tartans, revive the collegiate spirit with a modern and irreverent twist — a dialogue between tradition and reinvention, where simplicity reveals strength and each piece becomes a statement of contemporary identity.
Saudade
A feeling deeply rooted in the Portuguese soul. Saudade is absence with presence — the living memory of what was and what could have been.
In this phase of the collection, nostalgia appears gently, through fluid silhouettes, soft textures, and tones that evoke melancholy and beauty.
The woman reclaims her story, drawing strength from the past to affirm herself in the present. The fabrics become light and slippery, with the enveloping touch of Tencel and linen. Fluidity gains form in garments that wear like a second skin — free, bold, sensual.
It’s lightness dressing memory. Fabrics with soul that touch without weight, translating emotion into movement. An emotional ode to femininity, freedom, and the heritage that lives within us.
“This Autumn-Winter 26 collection revisits the early days of Riopele — the people, the places, and the threads that started it all. Inspired by our historical archive and nearly a century of know-how in the textile industry, it combines vintage textures and a nostalgic palette to celebrate our origins, while looking boldly toward the future,” concludes Renato Pinheiro, Riopele Collection Manager.
