Riopele certified with ‘Regenagri’

By 2027, the year of its 100th anniversary, Riopele aims for 80% of its products to fall under sustainability categories. In line with this commitment and its goal to lead in the production of more environmentally friendly fabrics, the company has obtained a new certification that promotes regenerative agriculture.

‘Regenagri’ is the new certification obtained by Riopele, allowing the company to work with suppliers committed to improving soil fertility, capturing and storing atmospheric CO2, enhancing biodiversity on farms, and optimising water and energy management. This achievement is also ‘a stronger response to consumer and market demands, which increasingly value products with a reduced environmental impact,’ stated Isabel Domingues, Head of the Sustainability Department.

Currently, this certification applies exclusively to regenerative cotton fibre, a key raw material for textile production. ‘Without a doubt, this is another important milestone for Riopele, which continues to evolve and adapt to new demands, staying at the forefront of the textile industry,’ concluded Isabel Domingues.

By adopting more sustainable practices, Riopele strengthens its position in the global market as a company committed to innovation and environmental responsibility.
