Sustainability

Products

Until 2027, our ambition is for 80% of our products to fit into sustainability categories.

At Riopele, we want to ensure that our fabrics are safe for people and the planet. We define our product development strategy considering a broad context of sustainability, reflected in how we work with the components of design, traceability, the process and choice of raw materials.

Our fabric collections comply with the most demanding environmental and safety standards and, throughout our production process, we perform strict quality control. We are committed to the values of innovation, quality and sustainability.

Besides, we are certified under OEKO-TEX® STeP - Sustainable Textile Production, at the highest classification level, confirming the permanent implementation of production processes respecting the environment, safe, healthy and socially responsible working environment.

At the product level, we are certified under the Organic Content Standard, Global Recycled Standard, European Flax Standard and Oeko-Tex Standard 100, Product Class II, and we operate an Integrated Management System in the fields of Quality (ISO 9001), Environment (ISO 14001), Safety and Health (ISO 45001).

Furthermore, we are also members of the Better Cotton (BI). We have adopted the Higg Index, a tool developed by the Sustainable Apparel Coalition, aiming to measure the company's sustainability level and benchmark among peers through a common set of tools to the value chain, promoting transformative change in the textile and clothing industry.

To enable our partners' more sustainable and conscientious choices, we have developed a sustainability roadmap concerning the raw materials used in our products. Among others, this roadmap describes the materials, origins, environmental and social impacts, and certifications.
