On 28 September 2019, Riopele was awarded the “Famalicão Vision ’25 Seal” prize for the project known as Tenowa –the Rebirth of Textiles, in the Famalicão Made IN category, at the ceremony held to celebrate the 184th anniversary of the founding of V. N. de Famalicão.
The award was handed over by Paulo Cunha, President of the V. N. de Famalicão City Council, to Albertina Reis, Director of R&D at Riopele, during the formal proceedings of the commemorations, held at Riba de Ave, in Largo da Igreja.
Created by the city of Vila Nova de Famalicão, the “Famalicão Vision ’25 Seals” identify and acknowledge good practices with a significant impact on the region, the economy and society in general, which are innovative and inspiring and which boost intelligent, sustainable and inclusive growth, the governance of the region, and promote the regional assertion of the city of Vila Nova de Famalicão at local, national and global level.
Hence, the Tenowa – the Rebirth of Textiles brand is recognised by the city council as an entrepreneurial project designed to promote technological incorporation and the implementation of future solutions, striving for excellence in production and developing an economy based on knowledge and innovation, as a means of promoting the values of the desired future of the region.
It should be pointed out that in 2018, the Tenowa brand was also awarded the COTEC Product Innovation 2018 prize, the iTechStyle Awards 2018 prize in the Sustainable Product category, and the Society of Fashion & Textile Industry “Best Art Work Award” prize.
